At the last meeting, one participant in our study group reported the following experience: she has been in a very challenging cycle of muscular-skeletal pain for some time.One evening, when she was lying in bed with her partner, just about to fall asleep, the pain was worse than usual.

He stroked and touched her leg, something she usually enjoys. But at that moment, it was really uncomfortable because of the pain, and she pushed his hands away, saying, ‘It hurts too much,’ so he turned away to the other side of the bed. She felt really bad about that because she thought he didn’t understand her situation at all and had had just had enough of her.

So this was the moment of the locally felt separation conflict of the ectodermal epidermis on her leg. There were both known, opposing nuances present: on the one hand, the touch that she did not want in that place, but on the other hand, a feeling of painful separation from her partner because she had to push him away, and because of his turning away, suffered greatly herself.

By the next morning, the conflict was in its most active phase. The following morning, she got over her feelings and talked to him again, to explain that she didn't want to hurt him and explained why she couldn't stand the contact at that moment. His understanding reaction marked the moment of resolution. Shortly afterwards, she noticed an increase in redness at the exact spot on her leg where he had touched her. It turned bright red, and the shape of the redness clearly showed the contours of his hand and fingers.

On the next day or evening, she proudly told her partner she'd figured out the connection between the spots and 5BN. He totally got it too. It didn't take long after that for the spots to disappear.
